Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program: How to Apply

A completed graduate application is required by the Graduate School before your application will be processed. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online. Information on the application process and the necessary forms is available on the Applying to Virginia Tech page. Please note that students must select the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Genetics, Bioinformatics and Computational biology (code GBCB) on their application materials.

In addition, a supplemental form for the Ph.D. program is required. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.x or later to view this form: Supplemental Application.

Application Deadline

Spring: To be considered for the Spring semester, COMPLETE applications must be submitted no later than October 15.

All applicants interested in Fall must submit COMPLETE applications no later than April 15.
